Starburst Galaxy NGC 1808

Long time no see. Thought I'd start posting here again. For some reason I forgot about IIS :S


I absolutely love the amount of colour detail I got out of this one.

Total integration 10 hours 40 minutes. Focal length: 1960mm

  • Exposed over 6 nights between 5th December 2019 and 29th January 2020
  • Orange zone in Brisbane, Australia. (Bortle 7)
Software:

  • Planning & camera alignment with Aladin 10
  • Captured with TheSkyX Professional
  • Guiding with PHD2
  • PixInsight: Calibrate, align, integrate, dynamic background extraction, LRGB combination, noise reduction, photometric color calibration, histogram, local histogram equalization, curves, crop.

Pretty awesome! I agree there is some amazing colour there!



Thanks for your processing info, too. I see crop is the last thing you do, and wonder why that is?
