April 2021 Photo Challenge - Entries HERE Please

As a bit of fun each month, we run this informal Photo Challenge, it's open to everyone.
There are no prizes, although if someone wishes to "Sponsor" the Challenge, I would be happy to talk to you about it.

This month's challenge, as chosen by last month's winners (FlashDrive and Tropo-Bob) is "Other Hobbies"

It doesn't matter if you are a professional photographer with Thousand dollar equipment on an exotic location with a planned set up, or a simple Joe (or Joanne) out for a stroll with a camera phone and a spur of the moment happy snap. Either way, WE WANT YOU to submit your entry. Please.

I know I said this was just a bit of fun, but there are some rules (we all need rules right?)
The Rules:
* This thread is only for posting your entry, together with any comments/explanation/details you'd like to add about your own photo.
[sometimes this may help sway the judges]
* However, comments on other people's entries, or any "other" shots of your own you'd like to share, are welcome But in the appropriate place, the "Comments and Other Images Thread" -> HERE.
* And, please only one entry (that's just one image) per person in THIS Thread, (but you can change it out at any time if you get a better one)
* Importantly, the image must be your "own work" [which means you either took the shot or were instrumental in the planning and execution of the shot] and
* all other normal forum rules, and image size limits, apply.

The image doesn't necessarily have to be taken this month, but, if you can, that is the object of the challenge!

In this regard, YES, the image may be an existing one that you have previously posted, unless of course it has already been voted a previous photo challenge winner.

The winner of the public vote, which will be run at the end of the month, will get to choose next month's topic and have their photo immortalised in our "Photo Challenge Hall of Fame".

Good Luck!

One of my many hobbies (or bad habits as I've been told) is motor cars .. and photography in general. Here we have a mix of the two. This is my old BA XR8 with a long exposure at night.

Model Building

It started with this one. Apollo 11 Saturn V Rocket. Airfix kit.
I had long wanted an Apollo 11 model that broke down into the individual stages I II & III, command /service modules, and lunar excursion module

I saw this kit here on IIS Classifieds. Thanks Julian (Starfire) Nov 2019.
After that, and especially during Covid, searching for and constructing further kits has been a good diversion and past time. (definitely helped my mental health issues).

I now have over 26 models, Full rocket sets and individual command capsules.
Including the full moon shot range:
Mercury Redstone, Mercury Atlas, Gemini Titan, Apollo Saturn 1B, anfd Apollo Saturn V. In various scales and configurations. Plus a Space Shuttle Endeavour.

Now I am just venturing outside the USA.
I have a Russian Vostok rocket and a Soyuz capsule to build and a Chinese Long March rocket in the queue.

(guess I still need to work on my OCD)

Did you say "other hobbies"?
How about flying my drone in stormy weather to catch that 'cracker' of a shot?

My other hobby is making model steam engines and workshop equipment. The pic shown is a part being made for a mini drilling machine which involved around an hour of arm chair planning, another hour to set up and probably less than half that time to actually machine it, basically the same old same old for most operations.

Fishing Tassie a few weeks ago

Hey,

Fishing is my past time, this is up near the mouth of George's Bay, (St Helens), Tasmania. Shortly after this iphone snap a small pod of dolphins (6-8) exited the bay to finish off a great day.

The area is known as trevally alley and we got the smaller ones in... bagged well on the King George whiting, which is what we we're chasing.
