I'm not sure if this is Poll worthy, but I wonder who the most popular captain is? I've always been a fan of the originals with Kirk (Shatner). I simply can't hear the sounds of protest to the above over Kirk's "awesome"

TNG seemed a touch-feely soap opera in comparison. NCC-1701A was the sexy Corvette Stingray, with the D model more akin to a Toyota Prius... Maybe I'm just looking at this the wrong way...(?)

Am I misguided? Help a brother out

EDIT: Looking at Shatner's current BMI, I fully accept that he's not gonna Captain any Starships until the captain's chair is "uprated". Perhaps Scotty's underlings need to shovel more antimatter into the reactor... So, Piccard it is.

Last I heard on Captain Kirk was that he was getting into a line of underwear. Not doing too well apparently given its called Shatner Pants.

Piccard number 1 then Ben Sisko from DS9 which was actually my favourite series
