Light Boxes

I have just recently completed building myself a couple of light boxes and I am very pleased with the results. If anyone is interested in me building one for them, PM me and I can discuss price etc, one thing is for sure, they are going to be at least a third of the price of imported ones, and IMHO work just as well. The two attached images will give you some sort of idea of my construction. My method of construction allowes the light box to fit over the front of the telescope/dew shield, much like a cover so one does not need to balance it on the scope.
I use a 12v lighter type connector for the power, and each LED is rated at between 6000mcd and 12000mcd depending on the size of the box required.
If interested please feel free to ask any questions.

Recently received my Lightbox & dimmer from Pete for my TS Photoline 80 triplet. Excellent unit and makes gathering lights an absolute walk in the park. Cheers Pete, love your work mate.

I sent you a pm a few days ago, probably you didn't receive it.

I would like a lightbox for a tv 85, and was wondering what details I need to supply and price and lead time.

Cheers
Paul

Paul, I definitely have not received any messages from you. I have from 2 others in the last 2 weeks, not sure what has happened there. Something rather strange is happening recently, I have responded to others that have sent messages and I have not heard from them again. If you could contact me via my email address: exfso2@aussiebb.com.au I can give you the information that you require.

Cheers

Just bumping this up. I detect a distinct lack of interest in these now, maybe I might well stop making them, as really I make very little out of these when you factor in time and material cost, maybe we have reached saturation point.
I have calculated that I have constructed well over 300 since I first started over 12 years ago, now from memory.
In addition to the above, I have noticed in recent times when I respond to a request, it is quite common now for people to just disappear and not even acknowledge my correspondence, which I find rather frustrating and to be honest quite rude.

Yes, one question. Instead of the lighter connector, can you do them with the Anderson Power Poles?

Thanks
Darrell

I gather they are a type of connector. Not used them at all.

It is a different type of connector. Not a problem. I am considering a third light box. I will get some measurements and send them through to you.

Thanks
Darrell

I googled them, looks like they are for 50amp connections, and heavier cable than I use for the light box power. If you want to use them, I can leave the cables bared for you to connect, done similar things in the past for people who want other type connectors.
