Is this true

I have just received this message on my Email,
Is it true or just another scam.
I have not included the link that came with the message nor clicked on it.
Subject: FW: ALL phone numbers to go PUBLIC soon

Quote)

REMEMBER: Mobile Phone Numbers Go Public next month.

REMINDER all mobile phone numbers are being released to
telemarketing companies and you will start to receive sale calls.
YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THESE CALLS

Below is a link where you can enter your phone numbers online to put
an end to telemarketing calls.

**Don't just delete those calls otherwise you will find that you have been signed up for all sorts
of extra services that you didn't want or know about. Like special
chimes, music etc.

Cheers

It's an attempt at phishing personal details. Delete.

I remember getting that email a couple of years ago. So I'm guessing it's just a scam to get your mobile phone number off you so they can sell it to the telemarketers.

I hope they do release all the mobile nos to the scammers.
Why should mobile phones be a protected species,
after all, the age of entitlement to privacy is over,
and the law of averages says i will then get less calls

Apart from it being a phish, they must be more stupid than the regular phishers.
Australian mobiles don't get charged to receive calls - at least while connected to an Australian transmitter.
