I am putting this up for sale because I am moving to a retirement village and there is no room to take it with me. Approx 30 years old - home made (not by me). Mirror last realuminised in 2007 and is still in fair condition. Excellent planetary scope - have got some great images using a webcam since early 2000.
About 13 years ago I upgraded the drives to 12 inch worm drives (RA and Dec) from England with a goto system added. Unfortunately this was not entirely successful as the drives bind occasionally and due to my lack of mechanical ability,I have been unable to fix it. It does track reasonably for planetary photography however.
I also upgraded the focuser to an electric JMI model.
Included is the 4 x 4 m ROR observatory and a sturdy ladder.
Price $3,000 negotiable.
Having recently retired, I can assist with the disassembly of the telescope and observatory. Located in Tenterfield NSW.

Reason: Add photos
Ralf, some photos would be helpful! I'm interested in the RoR observatory rather than the huge Newt., as I have a pair of eleven inch Celestron SCTs. I live 100 km away, near Warwick. If convenient, I could visit to consider how to disassemble to observatory and transport it to my home.
Ralf, the photos appeared as soon as I sent my message! Looks like the observatory would disassemble reasonably easily. Would you consider splitting the two items? Jim Irish
Willing to split ROR (tentative sold) and Telescope
I have a tentative sale of the ROR,so I am now offering the Telescope (including ladder) for $2,000.
If someone wants both the telescope and ROR for $3,000, the tentative buyer of the ROR is willing to forgo the purchase of the ROR.
This needs to go! Price reduced to $1500 for the lot!
Revised Price - $500 for the Telescope (14 inch F7.2) or $1500 for the telescope and Roll off Roof observatory (ROR).
I have a buyer for the ROR, but he is unable to take the telescope. He is willing to forgo the sale if someone wants both.
A bargain if you have the room!
