Can EOS Utility go over 30 seconds for timed exposures

Well as the title said. Does anyone know if EOS Utility can go over 30 seconds for exposures? It would be perfect if i could run it out until 3 minutes.

Yes you can. By setting the camera to bulb mode, then go to the EOS utility and there is a clock icon on the right, about half way down the window.

From there you can set the number of exposures, length and delay between exposures.

**Note**
If you have the in-camera-noise-reduction on, you will to set the delay between exposures to compensate for the camera's operation.
i.e for a 1min exposure, delay until next shot must be 2mins (at least) to cope with the 1min exposure time plus the 1min in camera dark removal - I add 5 secs on the time for safety.
Hope that's clear!?
Doug

ps...you can set exposures up 99mins99secs with the EOS utility, memory card capacity being a limiting factor though!

Thanks guys
That will help me. I just want to be able to set it up for 1 - 3 minute exposures. I will not be using in camera noise reduction.

Then then length of delay between exps is up to you...some guys let the sensor cool in between exps to minimize noise. My DSLR is cooled so I just keep firing, machine gun-like!!!
All the best

I use APT it gives you options to run different programmable exposure runs and see the result per view - has delays and can also be used for drift alignment, live view and focusing

It depends on the OP's EOS D/SLR.As some of the older ones, such as 300D and 350D.The Utility would not work more than 30 seconds. When I had the 300D to take longer exp-I used a cable with a bulb setting, and could take exp for as long as I wanted. All the other settings I could change on the laptop, the button sat next to the lap top and all was good. The newer EOS cameras do not need the cable to do long exp.Geoff Johnston makes the cables with bulb and shutter release and sells them for $25 including postage.Hope this helps.
