Canon 40D vs 400D

I've read a review at http://www.astrosurf.com/buil/eos40d/test.htm
I might be interested in buying one of these cameras as they do seem to be superior to the competition
see http://www.skynews.ca/PDF/SLRcameras.pdf
Big difference in price. Is the extra price worth it?
I currently have a 35mm pentax SLR but only 2 lenses anyway plus my pentax 645 that I will still use with it's wonderful big film. Changing to canon would not be a big deal as I rarely use the 35mm camera anyway.

In what way is the 400 worse than the 350?

I'd like to see someone do a transfer and linearity test on them.
