M16 Eagle Nebula under Full Moon

Probably the last time I image M16 this year as it’s getting quite low in the west of an evening
Gave the new ZWOASI2600MC a work out under a full moon with the Duoband filter down at my weekender on the south coast ( Bortle 3 Skies )

8” f5 Bintel GSO newt on an EQ6-R mount
ZWOASI2600MC with Duoband filter , Ascom control set at Highest Dynamic Range , cooled to -15C
30 x 5 minute dithered guided subs
15 x darks ( don’t really need darks )
Goto and tracking EQMOD StellariumScope and Stellarium
Frame focus and capture APT
PHD2 guiding at 0.80 to 1.00 arc sec error total
Stacked in DSS
Processed in Startools V1.6 Linear OSC data set

In hindsight I should have experimented with say 3 minute subs to reduce the Skyglow and read noise a little bit but the result ended up ok

The 2600MC with the filter performed extremely well with 5 minute subs , the longest sub on my Canon 600D DSLR under a full moon would have been 90 sec to 120 sec before the whole frame was white washed out. Really enjoying this new camera and it’s exceeding my expectations

Comments most welcome

Thanks

Nice, plenty of detail, particularly given the full moon.

Martin,

Great results !

I agree with Peter, last night was a challenge for focusing.

Seeing deteriorated well into the early hours, although it was nice to
be out again.

Thanks for sharing.

Paul.

Thanks one and all
Really pleased with this new camera especially imaging under Bortle 8 light polluted skies in Sydney and under full moon at my dark site south coast NSW like this image of M16

ZWO have come a long way with OSC technology in the last couple of years , a lot of older folk ( like myself) won’t even bother with going mono, filter wheels, considerably more data capture , time , money etc......

The new camera has exceeded my expectations plus more

Thanks again !!
