Making the East Arm Heavy

Hi Folks,

Everyone is telling me I have to make the East Arm on my Celestron CPC HD-Edge a little heavy so that the gears work against gravity and the RA does not go crazy, PHD is currently experiencing this so how much weight do I have to add on the East Arm please ?

Hi
Seems like I remember people use less than a kg. Maybe .25kg?
I just slide a 5kg weight a smidgeon one way or the other.
Its a big help for sure.

Thanks Glen. I will try 500 gram dumbbell on the east arm where the handle is and hopefully that will do the job
