Carina Nebula

My first attempt at DSO imaging. Thought I'd go for the low hanging fruit

Equipment
  • Nikon D610 astro modded
  • Nikkor 80-400 lens at 300mm
  • Skywatcher Staradventurer
  • Polemaster for polar alignment

Acquisition

ISO1600 f/5

Lights 60" x 50
Darks 60" x 30

Processed in Pixinsight and Photoshop

How do I reduce the stars??

We'd be thrilled with that. Lovely colour balance and general contrast. Good framing too, getting Gabriella Mistral and the Gem cluster in at bottom right.

Don't reduce the stars! There's nothing wrong with them.

Very nice widefield with great colour balance. I agree with MnT, the stars give a great backdrop, don't reduce them.
