Pegasus Piers June Special

Hi, I am a long term avid amateur astronomer and I now have taken my hobby to the next level.

I hope you do not mind me sharing my micro business here.

I have some exciting new astronomy goodies coming soon, all made right here in beautiful Queensland.

Excellent! I've been thinking of getting a pier. Just curious, I have a HEQ5 right now, and may upgrade to an EQ6 or something like that down the line, so I'm wondering if your adapter plate replaceable?

Adaptor Plate for Pier

Hi Chapstick and Joshman,

The piers are made to suit a number of mounts including an EQ5 or EQ6. You cannot have the top of the pier to suit more than one mount though. There is a solution to your challenge which can save you money in the long term.

If you think that you might want the pier for an EQ5 and later want to upgrade it then I can customise the design for you and do the pier with a flat top with tapped holes to take a Pegasus EQ5 adaptor plate.

Later on when you change and upgrade to the EQ6 all you have to do is purchase the adaptor plate for the EQ6 and it will bolt on in place of the older plate.

I can supply the adaptor plate for the EQ5 and EQ6 for you to bolt onto the top of the pier but they are an additional cost, at this stage, $250 for the adaptor plate

I trust that this helps. Please feel free to either email me or call me if you would like to go forward with a pier.

Cheers

Phil
