I was looking at this earlier, but was unable to find a price. That + an IR mod would make for interesting times.

paul mayo forwarded this to me tonight - my email would be on my work PC

At last we released cooled 40D.

We did our best to bring out new Asto40D with most attactive price for users.
The price of Asto40D is USD 2,530 (free EMS worldwide shipping), and this is valid to first 20sets only.

And we offers 1 year warranty about new Astro400D. In case of [user suppllied 40D modification, price=USD 1,380], we offers 1 year warranty

about cooling module, and about canon parts we offers only first 15days warranty.
And modification work requie about 5weeks.

At below link you you will get detailed information about new [ Asto40D ].

because you pay for him to completely pull it apart - voiding the original manufacturers warranty. I will be waiting probably 12 months - i will update to wither the new 450D or the 40D - get the use of normal photography from it then get it modded by yun in 12 months time. anyway thats the plan.....

I think the results will be great. In addition to the higher QE the new sensor has thanks to better microlenses etc, and 2 xtra bits of bit depth, add cooling and it will be an imaging beast.

AS for cost, if you get a body elsewhere and send it over, it is classed as a repair not a purchase, and thus, no GST
