ASCOM V6 is coming

May be of interest. Looks like its adds some nice functionality too. Will all install from a single executable.

Hopefully the install/uninstall routine works better. Have just spent 4hrs rebuilding after the uninstall routine carked it leaving a dead install that couldnt be revived.

Isn't that what CCleaner is for? I've used it several times to remove all the registry bits that stopped installers from working.

rmdir /s the directory followed by CCleaner should remove all traces.

Also the SysInternals tools would let you track exactly what the uninstaller was trying to do.

Or you could harass the ACSOM folks into doing a Linux version.

Yeah, you need a computer for a really good stuff up for sure. Hope you've nearly got it sorted now Trevor. MIght be time to make some ghost or Macrium images.

I don't think I'll be rushing to install 6.0 until plenty of other people have had it running for quite a while either Robin.

Not worth my trouble, my machine was about ready for rebuild, it had been 9 months since it was done last

I try to do it once a year when I put my car in for a service.

It's no sweat Rob to rebuild a machine. Build it with a D: drive with all your data and source files, you can blow away c: anytime be running again inside 2 hrs.

Being in IT means I play with a lot of stuff, the yearly clean out means things never slow down.
