Problems with Subs..image amp glow other issue

Hi folks...problem with Canon 450D last night. I won't describe all the issues I had last night and it appears they didn't end with the imaging session nor clouds.

I found around 1/2 my images had a strange "amp glow" in the bottom left corner and the lower part of the images were...well it's hard to describe...like the flip mirror was half stuck...if that makes sense.

Well...a picture tells a thousand words!

I'm thinking mirror? I was using the APT tool to do a sequence of subs. This is the 1st time I tried "image vibration pause" so I'm suspecting this is the issue.

Ahhh ....just saw on the APT site..."If you want to set AntiVibaration pause to 0s, make sure to set "Mirror Lockup" to OFF.
If you want AntiVibaration greater than 0s and to use PC operated shutter cable, you must set "Mirror Lockup" to ON."

Yep I had mirror lock-up (on camera) to disable...sigh..it's a learning curve alright!

I fought dew, mount, clouds...now I have to fight my stupidity!

edit:
Hey sorry Mods this post may be better suited to the APT thread here. Any change of moving it?
