The last of Comet Lovejoy

Comet Lovejoy is getting very faint now. The photo was taken on 29 Dec 2011 at local time 04.25am with a Canon 600D (ISO800, f/3.5, 18mm lens, 71 seconds).

I used IRIS to get rid of the substantial gradient due to the urban night sky.

A meteor trail climaxed right on the Comet tail.

Nice one, Theo. I think I saw that particular meteor The "emu neck" contrasts quite well against the background.

Great pic. The gradient removal function is a handly part of Iris.
