Chasing Lovejoy, from Singapore!

Hi all,

Really couldn't resist and purchased a ticket from Singapore to Perth last minute, deciding to chase this comet during the Christmas 3-day long weekend.

With the help from Visionoz (Bill), who mentioned the place Tammin for me as a dark-sky location reference (Thanks so much Bill). I decided to drive to somewhere around Tammin and do road-side
sessions. I eventually found this Yorkrakine Rock and climbed to the top and found it to be a very nice unobsructed site desipite the very strong wind.

With all the effort thrown into this chase, the comet didn't let me down. It hanged in the estern dawn sky with a brilliant tail up to 30deg long! Together with the awesome southern sky, the view was simply beyond any words to describe!

This one is my favorite photo of the trip:

Fantastic shots and great dedication! I think they forgot to put a "I flew to a different country" option in this poll

Excellent pics - the compositions with the people silhouettes are great.

The time lapse is also speccy - pity that it couldn't go for longer!

Thanks all for the good words. This is like a dream come true for me. Haven't seen a real great comet since Hale-Bopp. Lovejoy didn't let me down, it is equally brilliant!
