1.1% lit and 23hrs young
Here is tonight's Moon about 3 degrees above the horizon, sinking between cloud layers.
I've also added a video, looking for the Moon. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5EXPgd6bVBA
And another video started shortly after the photo was taken:

Very good capture on a less than one day old moon. Clouded out here, but I am glad to see someone captured this event.

Very nice capture there Tom. That's one very young and razor thin moon!
Cheers Daniel.

That's a great capture... I'm surprised some QLD'ers didn't call up the television station claiming they saw a UFO...

Now that is thin, wonderful video watching the Moon edge shimmer in that tiny gap in the clouds - what a catch, thanks for video.

This is great, especially the video. I always enjoy seeing the Moon when it is so thin. It really makes it look special. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the view Tom. That cloud must have been a tease, as to if you were going to get a view at all. All the best.

Thanks everyone for your comments. I've linked another video taken shortly after the photo was taken, and added part of the other video.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fOzs-tl844w
This was done with a Canon EOS 550D in full HD at prime focus of a 12" SkyWatcher Dobsonian telescope.
Cheers,
Tom
