PHD2 on Linux

Hello all you learned people,

The documentation for PHD2 alludes to a Linux version.
So I went on a web hunt and found

https://github.com/OpenPHDGuiding/ph...ingPHD2OnLinux

I followed the instructions for Ubuntu and all went well until the final tar step.

Has anyone here installed PHD2 on Linux?

Cheers
Chris

Chris,

I have installed PHD2 multiple times onto a Raspberry Pi 2 and 3, Raspbian and Ubuntu Mate and have not experienced any problems with the installation. Running it was a real headache until I determined how it needed to be configured.

Regards

Paul

Hey Paul,

What issues were those ? Maybe we can write a small howto for the next new user. Something for the PHD2 wiki perhaps ?

Hans,

They were not really PHD2 issues, more to do with how to configure INDI and the recognition of the camera. The trouble was that I didn't document everything as I went, so it may be a bit hard to produce a document. However, I will consider it.

Regards

Paul
