For sale is a dual-CCD SBIG ST8XE with CFW8 filter wheel and AO7 adaptive optics.
The ST8XE imaging CCD has a Full Frame Resolution of 1530 x 1020 pixels at 9 microns square and the internal guiding CCD has 657 x 495 pixels at 7.4 microns square. This particular camera has the optional anti-blooming gate imaging CCD sensor.
The CFW8 accomodates 5 x 1.25inch filters and is screwed directly to the camera for a strong rigid connection as shown. A T2 thread is on the telescope side of the filter wheel.
An AO7 adaptive optics unit is also included with the sale. NOTE: I do not have the necessary adapters to connect the AO7 to the camera or my telescope and so I have never tested or used the unit. The AO7 mirror could also probably do with a re-coat.
I have controlled the ST8XE and CFW8 with both Sequence Generator Pro (Windows) and Indilib / Ekos (Linux). The camera has the option of water cooling. Camera internal humidity control is via silica gel sachets which are inserted into the rear of the camera (to the left of the fan as shown in the attached image). A bag of fresh silica gel sachets will also be included. Power supply and USB cable are also included, as is a hard safe case.
Selling as I have more cameras and telescopes than I do mounts, and am looking to raise funds for a non-astro project.
