Cheap Prawn

Prawn Nebula, also known as IC 4628, is an emission nebula located in the Sagittarius Arm of the Milky Way, around 6,000 light-years from Earth in the constellation Scorpius.

Taken with the little el-cheapo Kson ED80 at F5.5, ZWO ASI 183mm Pro cooled to -10C, about 4 hours exposure (495 x 30 sec subs) with an hour each for LRGB. Luminance was taken with an Astronomik CLS filter, RGB with the Svbony filter set. HEQ5 Pro unguided.

Well, OK the stars are bloated with weird halos and spikes (very odd for a refractor).

But it's colourful and looks like it was fun to capture...which, if you are not having fun, defeats the purpose, so stick with it.

Thanks Peter. The cheapy refractor is a bit better than an achro. It's a doublet with FPL-51 glass. So not a full APO and it kinda shows.
