Simple flat field light source source

FWIW

Maybe I’m just slow, and others have already utilised this idea, but I’ve just had a light bulb moment for making a flat-field light source. Only requirement is that you need an iPad, (or probably any tablet device).

There is a free app on the Apple store called ‘screen-light’ that just generates a flat field light source limited by the physical size of the iPad screen. Most refractors would fit into this criteria.

Would be suitable for backlighting film based negatives and transparencies also.
