The never ending obsession

I just HAD to have a technical data plate made for the carry case for my Tak FSQ-106ED. I emulated the font as closely as I could without going too pedantic

(for anyone interested, these custom laser etched Durablack plates run around $39 posted, and I can let you know who does them. 200mm long...)

As they come finished, they are matt. I overspray mine with Cabothane.

Now to rivet it onto the side of the carry case

I would have thought that in the admittedly unlikely event that you put it
down somewhere public, and have to leave it unattended, even for a very short while, advertising what is in the case would not be a great idea, although I suppose a smart case like that would already indicate that it contained something expensive.

Public and me with astro gear don't mix, so the probability of that happening are close to 0

And yes, if I WAS, they'd already know anyway considering there would be a mount etc associated with it

I COULD drill the case lid inside and put it in there

Perhaps you could put a smaller tag just above that beautiful new one you've had made up stating "This does not contain a" That should keep things nice and secure!
