and I thought I'd seen everything ..... and some ' big ' Refactors in my time ... This ' takes the Cake ' BIG ' ... a 20inch LZOS Lens

The winner of the $55M on Powerball has finally collected... maybe you could persuade them to take an interest in this.

I'd happily settle for a 16" Mak with LZOS optics and OTA by Matthias Wirth though, a far more practical size. I can recall the Yale-Columbia 26" refractor at Stromlo - it was a monster, and the dome to house it simply a vast empty cave.

$900K for a 50cm lens ?
And an FL of 6 meters ?
Not a simple backyard telescope, unless you have a very big shed ?
And a very narrow FOV ... even the minimum magnification of 1/6x per mm is 500/6 = 83x. That requires an eyepiece of almost 100mm ....

And to buy it yoo'll need a mortgage ...
