Government QR Code

Do you need to load an App to use the Government QR Code. I use a Samsung Phone (S10+) on a Prepaid basis but every time I scan the code at venues like Supermarkets it comes up with 'Invalid Code' when I select the option to put in the code manually it comes up with the same message.

I should add that previously I had no scanning issues like this when venues weren't using the now mandated QR code system.

Yep, there is the SERVICE VICTORIA app that is specific to the States govs QR system.

Should be able to get it from your App Store or you can get it for the Service Vic website I believe

Here’s a link

What happens when one has a old phone that doesn't even take a photo. and doesn't wish to have a flash new phone.

Yes, my phone will not do the QR bit. So I will only sign in where there is a clearly displayed manual sign in place.
In my view the whole thing is wrong way around. Everyone should be issued with a card that is scanned by the place you visit.
But of course this would meet with the usual resistance from the conspiracy theorists, and strangely enough from those who love and support lockdowns.
