Australia Day

Hope you had a good one

Was nearly the end of Jan,
And all through the land,
People were gathering at Dan's in the queue,
Blokes and sheilas in their thongs and singlets blue.
Gotta go to the shops,
To get those lamb chops and snags for the BBQ.that carton of beer

The blow up havanas were on the list,
Sunscreen, hats etc., you get the gist.
All sorts of decorations and clothing to be bought,
A common theme of flag in nature was sought.
What was the occasion my friend?
Not just any long weekend,
But a grand day to celebrate
Just being an Australian.

Great day at Sharkies beach yesterday. Austinmere was packed at 7:00am. Chock-a-block. We're so lucky to have gorgeous beaches not far from Sydney at all on the south coast. I reckon I'll retire there.

Had a BBQ, a couple of beers and watched the day go by.....
Too hot to do anything else ............

This was my 52nd Australia Day, we're so lucky to live in this great country....
I'm glad my parents were brave enough to migrate halfway around the world
