May Photo Challenge - Comments & Notable Rejects

This is the thread to use if you have any comments about any of the submissions in this month's Photo Challenge "wild animal[s] in their natural habitat"

Or, if you have any additional shots that you have taken on the subject, you can share them here on this thread too.

Thanks

Surely you didn't have to get too close with that 1000mm telephoto Bob.

The 1000mm weighs a ton, actually just put it on the ground for a rest, thought to put camera on and test it for 1st time.

Thanks Allan .I’ll be honest I didn’t see the fish till I got back home and put the picture on the computer screen. It was the first outing I had with my then new Canon 500mm F4 II lens and 7dmk2. It is one of my favourites.

Pelicans

I thought about entering this pic of Pelicans at "The Entrance" but thought they're not so wild anymore as it was feeding time by a great number of tourists who flock there.

Wow. That's a hard one to pick. I had set a criteria, and sort them in order. So criteria and order is; Australian - Odd
Like the poohing caterpillar. On it's own, it might not have gotten my vote. But under the circumstances I couldn't not tick it.

I would have thought the fish caught in mid air by Derek was pretty odd.
That's my winner.

Allen - That was one of my picks. And I'm surprised to see it lagging a bit
