Ic 5148

IC 5148 The Spare-tyre nebula

Data from last month over a few nights some good some bad seeing.
No fancy OIII shells would like to try imaging those maybe next year.

RGB 7x900sec each filter
Light 17x 900sec
Darks flats and bias applied
sensor temp -15
Total exposure 9.5 hours

an Asteroid Vampiloc (3230) photo bombed imaging on one night and managed to make a small GIF here.

That's a great image. Beautiful colours and details. Very sharp. Some interesting galaxies in the field too. Cool vid as well.

An really nice shot Mike, well done, one of my favourite PN's, I love the subtle features in the main disc.

It needed 10hrs with my 12"at F3.8 and no Moon with a 6nm OIII filter to fully revel the outer halo, a 3nm OIII would probably have been better.

Thanks guys for comments.
Edited and added exposure details for Placidus.

Mike if it takes 10hours with your F3.8 at 6nm it would take me a life time with my F8 RC. Might be a good one for the to hard basket hehe.
