Lunt solar 60mm double stack b1200 w/pressure tuner

Hi,

Anyone lucky enough to own this scope or a Coronado equivalent?
I'm interested in buying one and would appreciate an unbiased opinion on this equipment. Interested in visual use and wonder if one can see the surface structure of the sun through this scope.

Better yet if I could have a peak through this scope.

Regards,

Hun

You might get more answers if you posted this in the equipment forum and not in the beginners forum.

I have a Lunt 60 mm Double Stack and think it is a nice piece of gear.

I have not had a chance to use it much and so would not claim to be a pressure tuner expert. So far I am happy with it especially compared to my old white light filter.

I have the tilt tuned version. Would love the PT version, but my one is very good. Visually the image in double stack mode can be a little dim, so can take a little getting used to.

Consider the Lunt 50mm version, it's a real beauty and cheaper too.

I'm not just saying this because I've got one, but because I have used every version up to 152mm and for visual use that little fella is pretty damn good.

My next favourite is the 100mm DS BTW - another real gem of a telescope which excels both visually and photographically.

I've added a couple of photos from the 50, and I wouldn't even consider anything less than double stacked if you want to get any joy from Solar viewing!!!

Hun,
I had and used the Coronado 60mm DS etalons on an ED80 for many years.
One of the best Ha systems I had.
