M42 again again

This is the image after the constructive remarks. Do you think that I've over processed it now?

As Alex has said many times in the past, print it and mount it on the wall!

Is it over processed? I don't think so.

Look at images found at astrobin and you will soon see what is over processed.

But there all good in there own way.

You could tease out a little more colour for fun.

And then move onto the horsehead nebula for a new challenge!

Pixinsight is daunting, but look at u tube there's a lot of help there. Once you get your pre-processed image saved you can fiddle as much as you like.

I watched a couple of utube vids last night and first time ever for anything took notes...a full sheet of lined note paper and only brief notes and they were vids for starting off ...
Been here five days...go out set up because the sky seems near perfect and having focused the clouds come in...thanks goodness I have the 80 mm it is not as bad as setting up the eight inch.
I managed first night after a long drive some frames of horse head but had the flattner a bit off so no frames were useful.

I find that it's a lot easier, for me, if I have the u tube vid running as I'm processing. I look at the vid then pause it and do the process then start the vid for the next bit and then pause it etc etc, seems to be better than watching the whole vid and then trying to remember what to do. Old brain you see! One thing that I would really like to see is them using the full name of a process not just the initials or a nick name for the process. One of my complaints about the vids is there use of nicknames or initials for a process, I really wish that they would use the full name

Yes I did that this morning.
I think some simple things seem to be overlooked I suppose because they are simple...this morning I could not work out from the vid how to close a preview box...anyways after two hours I am giving it a rest.

Go to preview on the top bar and select close or close all, for months I didn't know about the icon for new preview on the row under file etc, and was laboriously making previews by counting the pixels from top and left!!!! It was a pain

That's a nice improvement from the previous version. I think you can push the colours a bit more (saturation) to bring it out further.
