Tamron M83

There's been some long clear breaks between clouds over the last few nights here in Melbourne. Too risky to take out the scope but good enough for a quick set up on the Sightron Nano Tracker. I needed a longer focal length for this one so I used my old Tamron 500mm f8 mirror lens. I think the focus may have drifted a bit and the polar alignment was a bit out but I was pushing the limits of this tiny tracker anyway so it was always going to be a difficult task. Just trying to find the object was a challenge and centring it in the frame at this focal length meant every tightening of the ball head lock moved it away from centre. I had to compensate for this by off centring it before I locked the ball head so it would move into position once locked. All part of the fun!

60 x 30secs 3200iso, modded Canon 550d.
