Whats that smell.....someone has placed an order for a new phillips webcam 900nc!!!

Yup, ozone is what i smell, hence lightning across the eastern seaboard for a week.

Once that storm has passed and knocked over all outdoor observatories, then the intrepid planetary astronomer will give us a complete run down and review of its performance.

Hint.... it will be up against a neximage for comparison!!!

You think you've got problems.

All I want is one clear night to trim the truss poles of my 16 Dob.

Its been cloudy for nigh on two weeks here (well the nights I've had free at least).

Sounds like a good test!

I'm also travelling with my scope for a week or so up to my home town of Glen Innes, home of dark skies and good seeing (well, I hope!).

At least I'll be away from the low night cloud of Canberra for a week or so...Leaving this Thursday, getting back next Friday.

Is your lovely wife with the great name going as well.

By the way, i got the peltier cooler happening on the .6mm alu, and will now dismantle yours.

I am pricing up aluminium section to make a tube so that it dismantles into 4 pieces. I hope to have a baby bird before next year.

By the way, if you had your time again, and you want your image scale, would you go down the sct or rcx trail, or would you custom build again. I have looked at the options and I believe for portability, coolability, $$$$ ability, then custom tube and cooling will be my best bet.

hmmmm.... I wonder who it could be

Good luck with the Glenn Innes Trip Bird - you're up in the highlands so that must mean less atmosphere to muck things up eh

No, she's staying behind - this is purely a work trip for me (during daylight hours anyway...) and she'll be at work here in Canberra most of that week.

At the moment I think I have my ideal scope, I would build exactly what I have now - perhaps with some minor, cosmetic changes, but the same basic design and materials.

I got my Philips 900nc yesterday and I'm dying to try it out. Got a nice adaptor for it too, all matt black.

As you can guess we've got so much cloud here it would put the Venusian Atmoshere to shame.
