Takahashi .. On a budget..Maybe

Takahashi budget orthoscopic eyepiece?? Odd .. these are advertised on the Takahashi America website but no mention on the Takahashi Japan website.

There is hot debate on this happening over on CN, which has even seen a thread locked. tl;dr: the Starbase is sold in some places, but not made, by Takahashi, and the same might apply to these eyepieces. User reports suggest this equipment is of solid quality if a bit costly, and, arguably, dated.

yes being sold in the tak walk in starbase store to get people into astronomy, as an introduction but not a takahashi branded product, apparently japan made so should be of decent quality

i wouldn’t mind the altaz mount, -pity not avail separately

Made by Scopetech for the Scopetown and Starbase outlets....
Only thing Takahashi is the colour of the paint on mount and OTA

It nice to see a 14mm & 20mm Orthos amongst the offering. That the first time that I have ever seen Orthos in those focal lenghts.
