Good morning Jupiter and welcome to a new apparition. My 1st useable Jupiter image for this apparition produced a surprising result as I had been struggling to achieve any distinct image contrast due to a high tree in the east and the observatory walls preventing me from capturing anything below 25 degrees. On Oct 21st at this angle the sun was well above the horizon, my only protection for the scope was a large cardboard box perched on the obs roof. However just as Jupiter cleared the top of the tree a dense band of cloud obscured the sun long enough for a quick focus and capture. The result was a reasonable image of the NTB jet outbreak. Lucky imaging indeed.
