Had a mostly clear morning around 1:00 / 2:00am while Mars was still high up and some reasonable seeing, 5/6 -10 probably. This is a quick process of the 1st video of the session, will take a while to get through the rest, later today I hope.

Have you considered putting them together
as an animated gif ?
Yes I have often thought and been urged to make some animated GIFs from some of the Jupiter images and several Mars lately, as well. I may get around to it one day soon, maybe with the wet weekend forecast, hmmm !
Nice images there Jeff - just wondering, is there a barlow in your imaging train? If not, that would certainly improve the resolution.
Hi Andrew
Yes there is, forgot to put it in the list of gear, a 2.5 Powermate, so I'm imaging at f15 or 3.75 mtrs. which is supposed to be a sweet spot for te camera with 2.9 micron pixels.
Local seeing conditions still seems to be the biggest hinderance to getting better resolution.
Some very nice Mars images there Jeff.
I had really good seeing up here in Sydney's inner west on Tuesday evening but of course it can change quickly and vary a lot from location to location.

OK, all good
This is my first year at Mars, and I've also found that results change minute by minute, much more than the other planets. All we can do is take more videos and hope for the best.
Lovely shots Jeff. I was observing that same night and took a quickie around the same time. You're right about the seeing being average but you still managed some good grabs. Well done!
Despite the trials and tribulations involved with planetary imaging, compared to only a few years ago, the advances in gear, especially fast video cameras and processing software, the images we can produce now are streets ahead.
I should add that I am having a lot of fun and getting much enjoyment out of what I am able to capture and seeing what all you other imagers are producing.
Now having said that here are some more that I gathered very early this morning, seeing was average again and had lots of coastal cloud passing through regularly. Same gear as mentioned previously. I did try an experiment by increasing the focal length by coupling an Meade Shorty 2X Telenegative with the 2.5X Powermate. A bit of overkill but if I ever get better seeing then I may try again.
