GSO RC8 focuser issue ??

Where the focuser screws on to the scope or extension rings the flang (for want of a better word) on the inside edge of the focuser has a 45 degree bevel.

When you screw the focuser in i dont believe that it is sitting perfectly flush with the adjoining ring end. It moves around on the 45degree bevel.

I would imagine that in order to have a perpendicular plane to the mirror you would need the focuser flush.

I am considering lathing the focuser to ensure a flush fit.
has anyone else noticed this and does it cause tilt issues in the image?

Assistance please

Regards
Carl Rainer

Nope, and from memory mine either sits flat/flush, and is held securely onto the rear cell, or it doesn't. If it doesn't then seat it and screw the "flange" up tight, then it should/will.
In my case I was so annoyed with the stock focuser I changed it out for a Feather Touch. No more problems.

I had the same problem. I reported it to the vendor, but was told that's how it is.
If you can lathe it to fit better, then I think it's a good idea.
