Affordable Narrowband Filters

I primarily use my ZWO LRGB 31mm filters and also using my H-Alpha a bit more.

After getting very good results I am looking at buying a set of narrowband but keeping the LRGB for a while longer. Looking at getting the OIII and SII and upgrading the H-Alpha.

Recommendations coming from ZWO filters? Looking at mid-range (please don't suggest Astrodon and Chroma, well out of my price range).

Tossing up between Astronomik and Baader and possibly Optolong? Possibly 36mm filters. Which nm should I be looking at?

I have always used Baader, simply because they are good quality and cost effective in a set. Go with the 36mm, and 12mm is fine for most. Get a good filter wheel like the Starlight Express, I am not a fan of ZWO wheels. The Starlight wheel can screw right into most ASI cameras without adaptors, hence you save setback space.

Interesting. I knew it was between Baader and Astronomik. Baader look to be easier to source than Astronomik.

I am using Baader NB filters and very happy with them. I have the original NB filters that I bought initially but also have the ultra narrowband Ha and SII that they released. It is impossible to get the ultra narrow OIII at the moment in the 1.25" so continue using the ordinary OIII one.

I use Astronomiks, they’re pretty good quality, maybe not up there with the Astrodons but at a fraction of the price (in Australia)

Where did you purchase your Astronomiks from?

I can't speak for Camelopardalis, but I bought mine directly from Astronomik:

Astronomik send them by Fedex and mine got here in less than ten days.

I know Bintel sell some, too, but were out of stock at the time for the one I wanted.

Yup, I got mine from Bintel, but Astronomik can be quite competitive depending on the exchange rate.
