King Parrots

Had a lot of birds in our yard during the fires up here. We don't normally feed them but in the current climate they need all the help they can get.

Beautiful birds. I found quite a few blue tongue lizards in my backyard lately. I try to catch them before the cat and take them down the road. There's a creek with a fair bit of water there.

Nice group of photos you've taken. We have them visit our garden in the cooler months down here in Melbourne. They tend to head to the cooler climate of the nearby ranges in Summer. The drought and now the bush fires, will really be limiting their refuge areas. It's good to give them some natural seeds to supplement their diet as long as they don't become too reliant on the food source. They are lovely birds and you can get quite close to them. I've had them sitting on my hand while feeding.

Good stuff, great photo's, they have definitely given you the benefit of the doubt considering close with a camera - next piece of kit for my camera bag, a seed cake

Nice photos!

Both are transitioning through that awkward puberty period.
