Reflection Nebula VdB99, H-Alpha Nebula Sh2-1 and Sh2-7 in Constellation Scorpius

This Sh2-1 and Sh2-7 image was built by using Ha, OIII, and RGB filter.
Total exposures:
26 x 5 minutes using H-Alpha filter,
20 x 5 minutes using OIII filter.
23 x 5 minutes using R filter,
21 x 5 minutes using G filter and
28 x 5 minutes using B filter.

Color mixture details:
Ha only into the red channel!
Find the H-Alpha image before mixing with RGB here:
OIII was mixed with different percentages into the green and blue channel.

All image processing was done with PixInsight.
The exposure series happened in June and July during 20 different nights.

Details to the Objects:
Sh2-1: This combination of HII region and reflection nebula is ionised by the
B1V class star Pi Scorpii (HIP78265). Sh2-1 is a member of the nearby upper
Scorpius subgroup of the Sco OB2 association.
The Sco OB2 association is part of the
Gould belt and the inner edge of the Orion spur.

Sh 2-7: Is the core of a huge diffuse nebula and is ionised by the B0.2IVe
subgiant binary Delta Scorpii. Delta Scorpii is a member of the nearby Sco OB2
association.

Both Sh2 objects are approximatly 650 light years away.

Equipment used: Telescope T8 at i-Telescope in Siding Springs Australia .
During the nights: 2019-06-11 / 12 / 26 / 27 / 28 / 30, 2019-07-01 / 02 /05 / 06 / 21 / 22 / 24.

That’s a superb image Gerald. A lovely mix of reflection and emission nebula.
