Sun Today 21/6/15

Attached pic is the first process of a run of images that I took today. The Sun was quite active at a bout midday today with a lovely big prom, lots of smaller ones, some large filaments and some amazing white areas around the active region just below and to the right of centre.
Anyway I like the image so have shared.

Equipment
Lunt LS60Tha/B1200 with Feathertouch Focuser
Point Grey Chameleon 3 camera
Saxon EQ2 Wobbletronic mount
Image processed in PIPP, Registax 6 and PS Elements 7
Image use was best 25% of a 60second AVI

Cheers

Malcolm

The coloured version looks very close to the visual view I get with my scope in DS, great capture.

Thanks Houghy!
As a visual guy, to get a result like this is quite something! Not anything like the really good solar stuff we see here but I was pleased.
I am sort of assuming that the "white" areas are related to the aurora we have had the the last couple of days. Certainly it was short lived, it had faded within an hour or so of my imaging it.
