30 Doradus in Technicolor

The "real" colour of this arachnid had me a little tossed.

While I had to coax the gradient removal routine in PixInsight to co-operate, a side effect from beating it into submission. may have been some unwanted colour shifts

....which if really processing artefacts...ended up looking rather cool

I'll likely tinker at the edges on this one for a while yet, but am pleased
with the result so far.

P.S.
Out of curiosity, how much did you have to crop off the top of the frame? You’ve JUST missed Sn1987A and I’m hoping it JUST makes it into your frame

I’ve compared Hubble against my latest Tarantula attempt and I was really disheartened that I couldn’t keep with my a multi-billion dollar space bound telescope

Thank you...I certainly checked out many renditions on the web to make sure my data was reasonable...it was only then that I realised there are not
too many high-res versions to be seen.

A few things in my system came together nicely for this one: good seeing, great thermal control, perfect optics, excellent mount and large aperture AO.

I also had a quick look for SN1987a....maybe! ..but think I was looking at the wrong location, so will see if I can get a better reference on my "to do"
list

The colour really brings out the detail more than I thought it would. Lovely vibrant colours.

A beauty as I expected Peter. Dare I say though that in some respects I prefer the Ha only. There's something about hi res Ha shots.

It was a bit of a struggle to find the first time but once you know where to look it kinda stands out.

The first is it centred while the second is a comparison between mine and Hubble. It is quite humbling.

Took a while to get SkyX to centre the image, but sadly SN1987a is just out of field.... according to Maxwell (Smart) "missed it by that much"

I did put something up but it appears to have missed the save so here it goes again. Nice detail, good colour but now to more onto something more obscure like some of those PN's around. If you get detail this sharp you should try for those objects.

Thanks Paul (aka heavy hitter from down south ). PN’s are on my to do list...which is very hit and miss this time of the year in Sydney...Thunderstorms, Christmas cheer, rain, more Christmas cheer etc..
