Looks like a great book
I’ll see if it stacks up against “Atlas of the Southern Night Sky” 5th edition by Steve Massey and Steve Quirk which is an excellent resource book
I have both and they are significantly different. “Atlas of the Southern Night Sky” is a great reference and "Pearls of the Southern Skies" is more of a coffee table book with nice images (still a great resource for selecting targets to look at or photograph though).

My copy just arrived from Angus and Robertson yesterday , took nearly 4 weeks ( they claimed it was out of stock from their supplier )
Anyway it’s a great book with stunning images of our part of night sky
In fact some of the Nebulas show areas towards the extremity which are worth imaging on their own , little clusters and the like never seen before in other books and photos I’ve seen
Thanks for referring this book to us all
Cheers

Hi Guys,
Two titles that might interest serious amateur astronomers can find an introduction to either one of two books 'The Dynamics of Spiral Planetary Motion' A revolutionary view of the spiral governing planetary motion in the solar system. And 'The Origin and Decline of the Ice-Ages'. The real cause of the ice ages, learn how ice and floods shaped the Earth's surface.
Cheers Alan.

It seems both these books are written by you Alan? You might get more interest/response if this post were under its own thread.

A quick update, O'Meara now lives in Botswana with his new partner. They run a yoga / stargazing retreat for $2000 a night. I don't need the yoga, but an evening of stargazing with Stephen would be an unforgettable experience.

We were in Botswana recently, I wish I had known Stephen James O’Meara was there.
I helped him when he was writing the book "Southern Gems"
