I'm out, not because of the cash, but because I can imagine the s&^t fight that would arise to who was going to use it next.

The 1m one is 25 times more light than my 200mm - meaning I could take the same image in 6 seconds as I do now in 3 mins. Guiding would be a doddle!

I am glad I don't have a mortgage any more. I started low, paid my first mortgage off in 4.5 years and the second mortgage of in about 7 years, and didn't require one the third time. I would love to have a better house, but the financial pain ain't worth it.

I certainly would not have had the money for the astro stuff I have now, if I had a mortgage. Or a SWMBO!!! A Credit Card is cheaper than a missus!!!

I sure would love to build a better house, or buy that 'elusive' Tak 150 and ME mount, but I would have to mortgage my house to do so.

There are a couple of things I may consider a mortgage for, but astro gear isn't one of them, as much as I love my astro gear, it ain't worth going into debt for.

NASA and the NSF, had a few mirrors that never went into service, apparently? My understanding is that there were back up mirrors for some missions, at NASA. I read, in a recent Sky & Telescope mag, that NASA donated two mirrors, intended for spy satellites (?), to some organisation in the US. I can't remember the details though. I would have to look it up.

His mirrors don't quite match the eBay offering, but they're pretty similar. (The eBay 2 metre mirrors are a bit bigger - and you'd be able to snatch the "world's biggest amateur telescope" title from him!)

For the price they are asking, why bother with an agent. If the cost of an airfare to fly over and buy yourself and arrange shipping is a problem........then you can't afford it!

if I WIN THE LOTTO , These are mine .

On the build , I personally know the team needed to build these scopes/observatory's , yes the 1 metre is in WA .

The 2 metre will be donated to the most 'fine' , complete with build .

On the team , you will all be payed a years wages at your current . .

Photos of the build will be free in your Resumes ,,,,,.
