Sunshine Coast earthquake

Second one this year. This one was 5.3, 200km east of here.

I didn't feel it where I was, but the wife sure did with the house rattling.

Once "causalty" in the house - my Tak FSQ-106ED, which sits on it's Vixen dovetail on a chest of drawers, shook enough to topple it off the vixen dovetail, rotate 10° before coming to rest on some cardboard boxes I had put around it just in case anyone ever bumped the wardrobe. All in all, it travelled sideways maybe 3cm LOTSA damage... I reckon I better claim it on insurance

(no, joking, it is perfectly fine)

I'm about 30km from Hervey Bay which is on the doorstep of Fraser Island and I indeed felt it as well. I'm on holidays this week and I was sitting at the desk with a coffee at the PC. The desk, monitor and my chair were rocking back and forth. It was such a weird sensation.

I slept through the one earlier this year so this was a first for me that I know of. I thought I had knocked the desk but nope it was an earthquake!

it rattled one of my doors but I couldn't completely rule out the building works next door as the cause!
