Winning with Astrophotography

Lightning does strike twice it seems.

Last night in Melbourne, I won the title of AIPP Victorian Science, Wildlife and Wild Places Photographer of the Year for 2016. Somewhat incredibly, it's the second year in a row!
All four images entered received Gold awards (90+) one (M8) even getting a coveted Gold award with Distinction (95+).

This category includes professional wildlife, polar and extreme travel photography of the highest standard, but Astrophotography won the day

High res files can be found below... and yes, they're all circles again!

Thanks again to all on IIS everyone for all your help, honest critiques and advice with creating these images.

Cheers Sil, Richard, Paul & Leslie - For most of us Ap is a hobby, some others a passion and an obsession for a few, guess I'm one of the obsessed ones!

Thanks for the positive feedback folks
