NGC 5128 Centaurus A

I took this last night while I waited for another DSO to be where I wanted, about 6 hours total data taken over a couple of nights.

I use a RC8 with CCDT67 reducer and have it down to a focal length of 1049mm. At the moment I'm using a Canon 700D for all my shots till I save enough to get a asi1600mm.

Thanks for looking.

Was there a particular reason you used a reducer for this shot instead of shooting at native fl?

Karl
One of the best DSLR images of Centaurus A I have ever seen so far !
No need to upgrade to a CCD save your cash and stick with the DSLR as I think you could even do better with more data
Great image so much detail in and around the core
Gee your getting some great imaging time up there at Mudgee
Cheers

Thanks guys...

Tony I had the reducer on for another DSO and didn’t want to do an in the dark changeover and balance. That’s the only reason I may go back to it as the scope is back to normal.
Thanks Martin, I’m lucky with very dark skies and no need to pull the set up down anymore. A couple of great programs mean I can let it go for hours and not worry about meridian flips. The only thing that bugs me with dslr is the lack of red.

I just tweak the colour bias in Startools to redden the nebulosity a bit where required
Personally I’m not a fan of colour “explosion” in nebulas , a lot of people are
Cheers
