Antlia Galaxy Cluster

I've just spent a couple of months collecting data on part of the Antlia Galaxy Cluster. I ended up with 28.5 hours worth of data I used and a further 10 hours of Ha. Unfortunately I could not use the Ha data as it does not show the supernova remnant well enough. That will have to wait until next year for me to collect further data. I think it can be said that Rolf's effort in this field is epic.

There are a lot of galaxies in this field. Some part of the cluster but a lot much further out. Some are well red shifted and were beginning to show up well. I think I like NGC3269 the best though with its rings.

I did also manage to capture some IFN in the field as well as the faint beginnings of the supernova remnant to the lower left.

Some of the galaxies are showing a strong green cast but other than that it’s a very well presented image Paul! And you’re only about 120 hours behind Rolf

Very tidy. I do like the spiral top right that looks like a UFO.

Nice one.

The cast is now rectified. Hmm tired eyes. Yes the short fall of 120 hours would have a significant impact, though I reckon 70 might be a good figure to work towards in the coming years.

Nice work Paul. I imaged this a while ago... even if yours doesn't quite compare to Rolf's epic effort, it's much better than my attempt!

Just totally awesome. Exquisitely beautiful. A fascinating field photographed and processed with great skill.

It may not have turned up as much as Rolfs Captain Super Green Lantern effort but a great result on a cool grouping of galaxies none the less.
