Question Regarding Updating Synscan Firmware

I cant find a power supply with the required output.
Does anyone know if i can perform the synscan update while it is connected to the power from the mount ?
I cant really see any reason why not, but i thought i would check.

EDIT: Ive accidently put this in the wrong section sorry.

The power supply from the mount should fit into the SynScan Controller, at least it does on mine. You need, as far as I know, to plug the supply into the handpiece to update the software.

I can confirm what Adrian said above. The power cable for your mount has the same plug(2.5mm) as a power socket on your Synscan controller.

I had the same problem, since you live at oxenford go to Jaycar Electronics at Underwood/Springhill and by the 15Volt, 2 or 3 Amp DC power adaptor. It cost me around $25 about two weeks ago. Plug a long ead into your power outlet at home, plug the adapter into the lead, and then simply plut the socket end into the equatorial mount power outlet. Make sure you get the DC adaptor and not the AC adaptor and plug the positive to positive (this is clearer when you see the adaptor).
You only need to plug the Synscan handcontroller into your compuer to do any firmware updates. I went through hell because i only realised after about a week that the lead connections from the hand controller to my computer were not tight and keep disconnecting without my knowledge. I had to manually hold the connection tight into the hand controller as the firmware updated. Any doubts just take the manual into Jaycar and they will give you the correct power adaptor...Cheers STEVE.
