The Large and Small Magellanic Clouds

Thanks James. That is looking towards Canberra and the yellow glow is Canberra's light pollution which has grown a lot in the last several years.

Nice one Greg I imagine the increased glow is because Canberra is growing so fast ...and changing to LED lights Still, I imagine it is more obvious in the photo than to the naked eye, given the centre of Canberra is some 130km away from you as the crow travels?

You only used to be able to see it when there was cloud above Canberra. Now its a smallish but distinct light dome without cloud.

Mind you its still very dark at my site. I often watch the Milky Way for a long time whilst I do these nightscapes. Very enjoyable when its not cold.

I saw a very bright green fireball last night. The brightest I have seen. It lit up its area of the sky for a second. It went behind a hill but I saw clearly for a second. I have often wanted to see one. Magic.
