Occultation of Saturn Tonight

Took some images earlier in the evening of the occultation. Conditions were pretty poor with strong winds and a moderate jet stream. Prime focus on my Tak Mewlon 180c, Canon 60D camera. I was surprised when Saturn went behind the moon faster than I thought as seen in the second image. It was also difficult to take the images owing to the Moon's brightness against a much less bright Saturn. I must admit that looking through the eyepiece was quite spectacular and contrasts how difficult it is to take images of the event.

That's a nice wider view, with Saturn's rings being clipped by the lunar limb.

Cheers
